 Interesting. Is that based on a state-by-state analysis or just the raw vote?  Is the analysis somewhere I can find it? 
There are some states Obama won, like Virginia and North Carolina, where there were relatively limited reasons for the Obama vote to show up this time, just because the races weren't really close. 
One of the things we forget in here is the wide breadth of people who are independents.  Also the breadth of people who do not vote.  As Scott Brown's election showed, there can be times when usual non-voters rush to the polls to vote for a Republican.
