Query: do you think every provision in the stimulus package was geared toward job production? Was it all geared to job production in year one?
So the 10% that went to Medicaid, for example, was that a jobs program? How about the National Science Foundation research grants? Or the funds for unemployment insurance?
I agree that the $285 million of tax breaks were likely very expensive ways to produce jobs, but the Rs insisted on those. But the grants made to arts organizations specifically conditioned on preserving or creating jobs: there I'll bet there was real efficiency, since hiring in the arts is pretty cheap.
But, shit, can't I get a clubby response or somethign. Arguing with someone whose going to agree with me is kind of dull.
