I had an interesting Facebook thread today with two super lib friends. The woman posted a blog (hi TY!) about the owner of Jimmy John's- he killed a leopard and an elephant on a big game hunt, and gave money, as an individual, to some anti-immigration sheriff in Az.
She will no longer buy Jimmy John's. I said I boycott companies that act "bad," e.g. chik-fil-a, but the guy was making personal decisions. Also, the whole arc of boycotting seems to me like it cannot end up any way other than Rs and Ds becoming even more separate- all of you won't even eat in a restaurant where there are Rs. Eventually, once your shopping choices are completely divided I'll be able to tell Rs from Ds just by the clothes people are wearing.
