Rape is about power and control. "I want to have sex with you right now and you can't stop me." And since only people with power perform rape, it seems obvious that that is the key component.
If I ran into you on the street and made you get on your hands and knees to clean my shoes to avoid me beating you to a pulp, it would not be about my desire for clean shoes. It would be about me exerting my power over you.
