I have a relative who leaves Fox news on all day, everyday in their kitchen. It's hard to visit. If we ever stay more than a day, a pig-wrestling episode is inevitable. I understand Dick Cheney always had Fox news on wherever he went - he insisted his aides have the television on and tuned to Fox news before he arrived at any hotel room.

I'm not a big fan of echo-chambers. Even in college, I couldn't stand when people -- even people with whom I agreed on the very issue we were discussing -- would get together and talk about how stupid and wrong and blah blah blah everyone who disagreed with them was. It's never a discussion about what you can do that's good or constructive, it's all just a feel-good session, where each person ups the ante about how stupid those who disagree with you are.
Fox is like that, but without the excuses that (1) we're just a group of naïve college kids and (2) we're really just trying to get laid from some patchouli-scented hottie looking to break past her prep-school boundaries.
