NY was easy for me too.

I came alone for 2 months w/o everyone to live with my in laws first before we could find suitable housing. I learned the grid [streets] fast and was able to get a job in 48 hours.

I'm a hard worker so I was able to become more a manager type in a matter of months. I'm agressive so I asked everyone directions, and EVERYONE was nice. I was able to easily increase salary and do some OT. It's a great gig. I love the city.

Your sarcasm is very subtle. Kudos. |

 | No, I am pointing out your sarcasm re: "oh I bow down to your octane level awareness" or whatever snark-fest you had going on there. I am accused by TM of always taking everything literally.

I don't. |

 I don't.
 | Hmmm, I think that was literal. Both in the sense that she really was in awe of your ability to ascertain the octane level of the city, and in that she was actually physically bowing down to you. You should try being less cynical in your reading of others' posts. Not every conversation here is a "snark-fest," whatever that is.

I was in line behind 2 grandmas who were trying to smuggle illicit materials through security. 1 grandma had 2 bottles of water. The TSA agent shook them at her and said "you know these are restricted materials right?" And then the next grandma had 2 jars of jelly in her carry-on and 1 in her purse. She looked like she was going to cry because the TSA agent took her damned jelly. While the rest of us waited in line during the search. I tsked and shook my head in disgust, only to later discover that I had a bottle of lotion in my purse that they didn't catch. If I had been stopped by TSA, I would have had to shake my head at myself in disgust.

I did not get a chance to watch the Emmys, but I did catch Deadwood, Entourage and Lucky Louie. I am disgusted to hear that was the last Deadwood. What a crappy end. We should write a letter or something. Do we know anyone in the business?
And the dresses I have seen have been meh. Thurgreed - hot or not?

1. Apparently something happened Dick Clark's portrait because he looked ghastly old and frail. If he makes it to the end of the year, he's going on my Death Pool list for '07.

2. Farrah Fawcett is giving Joan Rivers a run for title of worst face lifts. She's looking pretty bad.

3. Candice Bergen should fire her stylist. This dress gives her a 1:2:3 ratio

4. Didn't see this on the show but from the pictures, this is my favorite dress. In the words of the youngest Fugee Niece, "Purpah is my faaaaaaaaaabrite color."
