Whether Hank's point beats you is another matter.
Hank's point goes to the cause of the current low tax burden, not its existence. The amazing thing is he actually has a real, substantive point, if mildly misplaced: people are paying at lower rates for several reasons, even if total payroll remains essentially stable.

The thing is, Dems aren't running, and probably won't be running, on the fact that they've generated low tax rates and burdens, just as we've never run on balancing the budget during the Clinton years. Boy, it could win us back some blue dog seats.

I wouldn't mind if bosses didn't pose as arrogant pricks on the interwebs who never said anything other than "I'm smarter and more experienced and you wouldn't understand." It reminds me of Ricky Gervais on the office, and worst, most insecure bosses I've ever had.

Lets not drool over Hank's point too much. Ultimately he's arguing that the lower overall tax burden results from that same income (GDP) being spread across fewer tax payers (implying higher incomes for those taxpayer). The only reasons that isn't laughable are the preferable tax treatment for dividends and capital gains and possibility of higher corporate retained earnings.

You do know Hank's really the idiot child of the real boss, kept in a corner office in a vacant wing where they only bring him the non-paying client files to work on? His postings here are more real than the life he keeps aluding to.

This is a friendly board and your repeated hate posts make me wonder if you might not fit in better at a more hate filled board?

They ought to be running on it. Why not say to the GOP, "We lower taxes better than you?"

By the way... Laphroaig regular 10 Year is great. But after having the Quarter Cask, it feels like it's lacking something. Lesson? Never start at B list and work backward to C. (I haven't seen the 18 Year anywhere, so I doubt I'll test the A List anytime soon.)

He is the boss. He gets to do that.

Life's rewards aren't doled out based on facility with economic arguments. If they were, you might actually get laid every once in a while.

Alternative responses:

1. Did you not see the Gervais comparison? (In other words, duh!)

and

2. I've seen the man's linkdin profile, which suggests you are wrong.

You missed the word "pose?"

I know it's just an act.

Really? I picked it up at while going slightly "ghetto" in liquor store choice. Wasn't even that expensive.

Yeah, well, those tend to be the worst bosses. The ones who don't recognize that the way to make real money is leverage, and having people around you that make you smarter makes you money.

It's the only reason I survived as long as I did at my last job. The smart partners (the ones I worked for) understood that they could ignore matters I was on and just get briefed right before talking to the client, even if I'm otherwise a slacker.

The non-sexual ones in my world are to a degree, but mine is a strange world. And, in fact, a client is almost 100% responsible for getting me my current gig. If only they had more work to do right now.

The answer to the first paragraph is that we've got our base, too. Maybe we'll get it broadcast in a presidential year.

Laphroaig 10 is still great, just different. I do think it suffers more in comparison to the scotches closest to it. You taste the 19, for example, and it's just completely different. Just make it by here sometime, I've got a 19 open at work (going very slowly so far) and a 25 at home (that'll go faster).

There's a 19 too?
