Along similar lines, does anyone have any particular recommendations for fruit-of-the-month type things? I'm looking to buy it for a family with small kids and wonder if there are any particularly good or not-so-good companies. The only one I really know is Harry & David and they tilt more heavily to the gift basket with crap and some wax fruit than I'd like. TIA.
We received a Harry & David gift basket today. It's got ten pears, one (foul) red delicious apple, a small block of cheese, a jar of peach preserves, and small bags of mixed nuts and chocolate mints. Definitely more heavy on the fruit.

The thing is, I can get better versions of everything in the basket, and pretty easily. I would much rather have gotten something else, but a) it's not for just me, but for the whole family, and I'm sure the kids will like the fruit (Thor also really liked the nuts and the chocolates, which his older brother turned up his nose at); and b) it's from my fil's partner, who has had apparent difficulty in shopping for us in the past. Unfortunately it's somewhat reciprocal, and I'm pretty sure I've given him some real clunkers. Sigh.
