quayle real problems grew from a perception he was a pretty young suit, then he had some public spelling problems. are you saying spelling problems mean the poor speller an idiot?

Yes and no. The point is that it is more then Quayle.
Again, Biden is an ass. And I am on record as being not happy with his selection as VP.
But he isn't Quayle.

Just curious, in the Gov's race, are you for turning out the incumbent republicans?
While there's technically no incumbent in the race, more of the Gubernator's administration will get to add to their pensions if the Wicked Witch of Ebay gets elected.

This is just silly. Biden was a third tier Presidential candidate in his own right. When did Quayle ever even vaguely aspire to the third tier? And why are we even talking about Quayle at this point in time, when he's no more relevant than any other trival pursuits question.
Yes, I would have preferred something north of third tier for the Obama ticket, but if you're going to have a cannon loose on the deck, you can do worse than Biden. Much, much, much worse. Like Palin.

Because the Dems are no different from the Rs, you see. Throw all the bums out!

my congressman is "for life" since he is Carl Levin's brother- but next district over is a guy named Gary Peters (D). Peters is a moron who beat a very smart conservative R in 08 (Joe Knollenberg) because Rs were bad and needed voting out.
so, just IQ wise we took a step down. but now it seems like Peters might well lose to a guy with a long polish name who seems perhaps dumber than Peters and is a TP guy to boot.
so we took a step down with peters and we may step down even lower.

you can't seem to articulate why you think quayle is stupid.
all of us here can say why we think you are stupid, if we say you're stupid we'll back it up with examples. but you keep saying quayle is much worse than biden but you don't seem to be able to offer the slightest evidence*.
*e.g. reason 957 why everyone thinks you're an idiot.

Interesting. I hadn't tried. It is self evident. Think back to his candidacy for VP, his comments as VP, and his later run for president. Think. About. It.
Also, congrats, but you are the first person to contest the fact.

"Everyone" thinks I am an idiot because everyone agrees that Quayle is an idiot, and, in fact, that was the premise of the conversation which no one has disagreed with (except apparently you)?
Interesting. How many reasons do people have to not take you seriously because you are a coward who hides behind his "prescient" questions and "amusing and insightful" anecdotes that are only occasionally (perhaps earlier in the day when you are more sober) on point?

Congressional districting blows for everyone involved except the incumbents. In my world, this is how it would work: Every time there's redistricting, everyone can submit a redistricting plan for a given state. The one that's picked meets these mathematical criteria: The population of every district in the state is no more than 1% more than the population of any other district in the state, and the total length of the borders of the districts are the shortest of any plan submitted.

your perchance to insult and attack every sock on personal grounds has almost made me want to leave this board. Diane Keaton tells everyone you're the reason she left- I think you underestimate how hateful some of comments can be.
