For example, if I am watching my beloved Pat Kiernan on NY1, not in HD, I cannot see what temperature it is outside because it is cut off. Also the top of his head is cut off. (I can still hear his dulcet tones reading me "In the Papers" though, thank god.) If I watch him in HD, there are bars on each side of him because I guess NYI does not do HD very well.
Does anyone know what I am talking about and why this might have happened and how I can fix it? I've gone to "picture options" on my TV and scrolled through them and none of them fix the problem. It's on 16:9 right now.

It's probably on "Zoom". Just click through the aspect ratio option until you get back to the one you had before vacation.

Your TV is either stretching, zooming or cropping the 4:3 non-HD signal so that it fills the whole screen, which is apparently causing it to cut off part of the edge. There should be a setting in there to make it stop trying to fill the whole scree so that you instead get bars on the outside of the screen. Or you can set it to 4:3 instead of 16:9.

TV question
Hmm. I've tried all the aspect ratios and none of them seem to fix it, not 4:3, not Zoom, not Just Scan etc. I think it's time to call the catsitter onto the carpet and ask why she is messing about with my TV.
thank you.

That seems terribly nice. I hope you guys have a great time there. I can't imagine wanting to leave the area at all, which I suppose makes it absolutely perfect for a honeymoon.

Check the DVD player. If there's something in there similar to "Lawrence Of A Labia" or "Diddle-Her on the Roof", then he/she's your culprit.
Well, unless you left it in there before you went on vacation.

Be careful what you see, though. I have been needing a Neti Pot for my brain for the last hour and half.
We have a 53-year old horndog secretary here - the kind of woman that goes to Chippendales with her friends and she starts trying to get on stage and yank out the stripper's cock so she can suck it first - and she and another secretary were discussing the "weirdest" place they had fucked. Right outside my office. So wrong. I need therapy for the mental image.

My honeymoon starts tomorrow. In bucolic CT.
You are all so envious, I know.
PS -- To enhance the envy you are all feeling, I will taunt you with the following: it's SNOWING here today. That's right... snowing.

Congratulations!
Are you at least heading out to Fox-woods rather than staying put?

Ageist. This is great story if she's 23.
Even if she's an ugly 23.

Your cable remote may also have that feature that works through the cable signal instead of the tv. Check that before giving your catsitter a right hook.
