Shape Shifter and Sidd are each inexplicably quoting a post from a Lawtalkers thread in February that I know you read because we discussed it in person. I'm proud the post was rediscovered though I have no idea why this one in particular has a second life. All my nuggets rise in value with age.

The Cloisters are what people in the City think of when they hear Inwood. The Cloisters are a fine place to sit and contemplate your inevitable demise and take in the nuggets left by a dead civilization, but if you want to spend time in Inwood, go to the bars near the old rail yards or under the GW Bridge, grab lunch in one of the old german restaurants you can still find on Broadway, or go to the park and watch the kids play baseball - the Dominican influx has really schooled the old-timers on how the game is played.

It's a neighborhood, not really a tourist destination. Great place if you like the flavor of different neighborhoods, not really interesting if you're looking for entertainment.

in my practice a First year would know it, but then slowly forget. By 10 or 11 years in they would not have the first clue.
