Re: Pepper sprayed for public safety.
When I'm hunting deer, I like to go in with some tear gas first, just to get the tactical advantage.

The Founding Fathers wanted us all to have ready access to tear gas.

let me tell you something, a San Francisco liberal Obama toady who goes deer hunting in 99% of the United States should bring tear gas. Around here, a San Francisco liberal would be likely to get their ass kicked by the real American deer hunters during slow times and that tear gas may be all that saves you so you can still attend the opera later that evening.
For that matter, I would suggest an up to date liberal would kill the deer from a remote control plane with a gun mounted on it, even if you end up killing any other animal that's nearby.

You've got it all wrong there, sir. The rot lies with the culture of violence, and the greed turning this country into a new Gotham of haves and have nots. Hollywood, funded by banksters, serves us up the gore that reflects what we are as our society craters under the weight of income disparity. In desperation, rootless young men seek anti-heros to emulate and you have these tragedies.
You can read all about it in [Insert every liberal rag with a bleeding heart oped writer].
(Seriously, the herculean efforts of several opinion writers to somehow link the movie to the current state of America culture, and suggest its bleak themes have something to do with a nut shooting people during it, are amazing. Reminds me why I never went to journalism school.)

this statement implies you agree with the work done by those with whom you do share a degree.

Re: Pepper sprayed for public safety.
Admittedly, I have tuned out on most of the macroeconomic debate here, aside from surface amusement at the insults that Sebby and Adder have lobbed at each other.
Apologies if this has been already covered in some of the many links from this thread, but I was curious about Sebby's and others' reaction to this plan.

I cannot believe Obama said this. i feed 35 families, 35. Perhaps I had help, but I built it, it was not built for me.

Meanwhile, good on you, feeding all 35 yourself - you might want to get one or two people among them with the capability of bringing in business, too, so you don't have to do it yourself. I'm glad you never needed government for anything - no degrees from state schools, no industries supported for federal money, no nothing from nobody. I hang out with a lot of people who worry about our start-up ecosystem and such, and know they're not in it alone, but it is good to know that there are still lone knights out there, conquering windmills and saving Christian virgins.

I do have partners who bring in work, but I taught them how. I am available for consulting. Ask your boss if he is interested.

You sound like Politico's version of this:

Re: Pepper sprayed for public safety.
How many of you have been in a situation where someone pulled a gun? What did you do?
Me, I was on the subway when one lowlife pulled a gun on another lowlife. I was in the next car in less than a second, and really surprised by how quickly I ran.

In Nam, I was on a detail cleaning up potential Charlie recruits in a small village just south of the DMZ. I'd killed a young mother and her 2 year old twins, and was reloading to take care of the older kids, when the 12 year old ran outside and grabbed a revolver off my dead sergeant. The little girl got the drop on me and shot me in the penis.
At the MASH unit I learned I'd need a transplant and the only available option was from a horse that happened to have been shot earlier that day. Of course, that's another story.

Re: Pepper sprayed for public safety.
I had an interesting Facebook thread today with two super lib friends. The woman posted a blog (hi TY!) about the owner of Jimmy John's- he killed a leopard and an elephant on a big game hunt, and gave money, as an individual, to some anti-immigration sheriff in Az.
She will no longer buy Jimmy John's. I said I boycott companies that act "bad," e.g. chik-fil-a, but the guy was making personal decisions. Also, the whole arc of boycotting seems to me like it cannot end up any way other than Rs and Ds becoming even more separate- all of you won't even eat in a restaurant where there are Rs. Eventually, once your shopping choices are completely divided I'll be able to tell Rs from Ds just by the clothes people are wearing.
Thoughts?

One person not shopping is not a boycott.
