You are exactly the type of person who needs to engage this type of bullshit with these types of people. You shouldn't care if he withdraws from you or hides his opinions from now on. You need to create discomfort. You need him to know that people who aren't the object of his racist bullshit think he's an asshole as well. Maybe he'll label you a liberal who can't take a joke, but who fucking cares?

Generally a really nice, soft-spoken guy. That means he should be given a break? Or are you adding to the fact pattern so we have more information to answer your question?

Very rarely, someone will say something racist or sexist or whatever on Facebook, and you can call them on it and get a positive response. But that happens, if at all, when someone normally sensible does a casual reply to a post. A guy who actually re-posted a photo like that? He's a complete dick. I agree with you -- I really do. That's why I said that someone braver than me, or a better version of me, would say to engage, and is probably right.

So, pardon my impolite question, but I am curious - if your state's GOP presidential primary was held today, who would you vote for? Or would you select "none of the above" or not vote in the primary because you don't like any of the choices (which I actually did in 1988, believe it or not, because I was Waiting for Mario).

Not impolite and I'll bite. I'd vote for Rubio because he could win the national. If he wins and taps Carly for Veep, he'd seal up 2016.

[Going back at least 3 years, I said the nomination would come down to Rubio or Walker. Walker imploded, so I'm still 1/2]

I love parts of Cruz and parts of Paul, but they both sometimes drive me nuts and are both best served being in leadership roles in the Senate. Christie should be polling better. Carson is wonderful, nice guy - one on one he's great (which explains his popularity in Iowa), but he looks like a "Not Ready for Prime Time Player" when on the stage. He's going nowhere.

And I hate to even type this - as I've met the guy several times and abhor him - but if Trump continues this vanity run of his, he's the next POTUS.
