But it still isn't enough to get Mitt elected. Nate Silver has my proxy on that.

The Nate Silver to-do is one of the more amusing bits of this campaign. I imagine not just Morning Joe but overpaid political commentators everywhere, of all stripes, as big Dinsosaurs laughing their asses off and pointing at little Nate Silver, the small, funny looking two legged creature.

Silver annoys the media because they want a neck and neck race, and he's been arguing, with non-partisan math, what many of us have suspected all along: It isn't that close, and Obama's going to win.

You did have to put up with a funky odor, often covered by the even funkier odor of patchouli.

Lesbians Until Graduation were not the exclusive prey of pseudo-intellects. Even I managed to be offered the threesome from a pair.
(Of course, I managed to grasp defeat from the jaws of victory by getting too drunk and saying something one of them found offensive.)

Yup. Some of it is also the medias sense that being unbiased means saying good things or bad things about each candidate in equal numbers, regardless of how much of a fool one may make of himself. Nate is, intentionally, more positive about whoever seems to be winning the day, and only neutral in his assessment on days that seem to be pushes.
Reporting that way would be a HUGE shift in american journalism.

Indeed. It would also fail to create viewer loyalty among the tribe minds that make up 90% of the American population. You'll sooner see Donald Trump's scalp.

This, from the Times "public editor" is pretty crappy though. And also kind of irrelevant as it seems there is no bet.
Which I saw as the point. Joe said everyone knows the race is a toss up and the Nate is a "joke." Nate offering a bet that he knows Joe won't accept is a good way to demonstrate that Joe probably doesn't really believe it's a toss up, or at least not strongly enough put his money where his mouth is.

The other point I simply reject. Romney's a numbers cruncher. No ideology trumps simple math.
