This scared me for second:
Tell your vaccination provider about all of your medical conditions, including if you:
***
• have a bleeding disorder or are on a blood thinner
But it turns out the concern is bleeding and bruising at the vaccine site.

Given those points, the most significant being the unknown duration of immunity, it's pretty clear we're going to be wearing masks for a long time to come.
Mass transit, restaurants, and gyms will be a bit of a pain in the ass in this regard, but I see no reasonable alternative until we can establish length of immunity or that we've reached herd immunity. And I don't see the public (the sane public that doesn't mind wearing masks) giving them up any time soon. There's no cost/benefit under which freedom from mask wearing outweighs chance of catching the Rona.
I bet you'll see $250 masks in the Hermes and Ferragamo stores at the mall in the next few months. (They'll need to do something with all the necktie fabric that won't be used for that purpose anymore.)

So mask wearing continues for months, I think we are both saying.

If SARS provides an analogue, masks are indefinite going forward. People from countries impacted by that are still wearing them.

Someone posted this in my office, highlighting number 3 (in support of no masks)
Quote:
You don’t need to wear a mask when you go for a walk or a jog. Donald, who’s famously careful, bikes without a mask. “I consider keeping six feet distant outdoors more important than wearing a mask,” he told me. “If I had a birthday candle in my hand and you’re too far away to blow it out, I can’t inhale whatever you exhale.”

The poster infected the whole floor in March.

My governor is tied with Cuomo for governor Trump hated most re. Coronavirus, and we have pretty strict rules. We have never had "wear a mask outside when you can distance" as a rule.

Yeah, same. I have one usually just in case, but most of my walks/runs are routes that I don't get anywhere near people.
I also don't wear a mask at the gym, but I'm still at the speakeasy gym where I'm the only person in the building when I work out.

Re: Objectively intelligent.
Yeah I wear a mask if there are people around. Run in an empty preserve, no mask. Manhattan = mask.
But so does everyone.
But kind of not my point. My point is why was it posted in my office? Had nothing to do with running or biking.
FYI in case you folks haven’t figured it out 6 feet isn’t a magic number.

I’m not within 10 feet of anyone when I run. I can’t imagine running in TCOTU, but I’d rethink the mask thing. But I don’t get why you think 6 feet outdoors isn’t far enough away?

For a Harvard trained dude, you're missing the point about as widely as Ron DeSantis.
The exact point is that using an example for being mask-free outdoors as reasoning for why Patient Zero doesn't have to wear a mask in an unventilated office.

He doesn't want to wear a mask inside? What % of your shop is back in the office? My place it's about 10%.

Re: Objectively intelligent.

So I don't get retansmission rates. Michigan has been below 1 for weeks, in fact usually about .8. I always thought that means it would be slowing/decreasing, but we are still red. But also I don't get how it is calculated. I mean we have 7% contact tracing, which I would expect would mean we really have no idea. Is there some magic to calculating it, or is it based upon the limited cases that have been traced?

Correct.
Don't know. I have been into the office 5 times since March 11. The first 4 times, June, July, and August, mask usage was at 0% in offices and 0% in common areas. The last time, last week, I got there before anyone and sat in my office and did a video dep in an N95 and left without seeing anyone.

I have not been to our office since March 11.
On a different note, it seems like Cleta Mitchell has done an excellent job developing a certain kind of client and probably isn't get a ton of work from other Foley partners, so why would she stay? Better group medical?
