I would like to read less actually. I died a little inside when I realized that I knew the name of Cindy Crawford's husband when it came up randomly in conversation. And I just forgot my best friend's birthday too.

I met Rande and Cindy at a party at Penske's. They're lovely, why would knowing them make you feel inferior? (I'm not asking why you feel inferior generally, get that).

Just thought I'd let you know what happened.
Mr Man and I did couples counseling for a couple of months and just wrapped that up last week. We decided to just be friends. He is hopefully going to continue doing some counseling on his own to figure some things out that are holding him back from enjoying his life.
The new guy (gosh, he probably needs an online nickname, but I'm a bit scared what you folks will come up with) let me know when I broke up with him in July that he would be available as a friend or whatever I wanted and that he wanted to know what was going on with me. I dropped communication for a month or so and then ran into him a couple of times at lunchtime, which led to email exchanges and some catching up. He made it pretty clear that he was still into me. So a couple of weeks ago I took him out for his birthday and then when Mr Man and I dropped the counseling, I just started dating TNG again. Which has been fun so far, but is all very new.
So maybe in this particular case honesty WAS the best policy. Go figure.

Move up a few more levels on the social scale and perhaps you'll understand. I am the 1%.

LTD Poster Child (well, adult)
It's nearly the4th quarter and that means many employers will be having open enrollment for benefits. ELECT TO HAVE LONG-TERM DISABILITY insurance. I figured "hell, what does it matter that I'll never use it, it's cheap and they pay me a lot. It's so cheap and I'm making so much money that I won't even pay with pre-tax dollars, but will go after tax as an example to all because that way, the benefits (if ever paid) will not be taxable. I ONLY WISH I HAD ELECTED 70% or 80% instead of 60%. Unexpected, unplanned shit happens and sometimes it's bad, so it's good to have insurance. A friend of mine and/or her husband got extra not through work because they have 2 kids and probably couldn't deal well if they only had one salary. It's been almost 4 years and I'm still not even driving yet, and I don't live in NYC. I don't live in LA (in which nobody walks) anymore, but there was more to walk to where I lived there than where I am now. And while things could be much worse (like, I could have to worry about money and/or be stuck in a wheelchair or subject to random unexpected grand mal seizures, that doesn't mean that my life does not totally suck now.
So just get it. That is all.

See? And I totally missed or forgot important shit. I remember none of daily life, only a few event-y things from 2008 and they to my mind could have been in 2007, and this. If I ever knew, the cells with the knowledge are incommunicado.
We could call him CaseSensitive.

I don't have time to post, I'm too busy upgrading my long-term disability insurance. That was a very persuasive email you wrote.

I don't think I sent any emails about it, but my memory is kinda sucky.
And I now will be asking lots of people whether there is shit they haven't told me because, you know, I'm weak.

This is the new norm. This place has gone the way of the Palm Pilot.
And great post but my firm doesn't offer disability insurance. They merely offer a dolly to put your body on and roll you down Broadway.

I left my wallet in a hotel three weeks ago and just got it back. I am relieved to have my cards and cash again, but find it uncomfortable to have it lodged under my ass when I sit down.

This is more or less how I felt when I returned from a three-year hiatus and saw that Hank was still on the PB.

You don't remember writing me 17 emails last night? Most of them were about bacon but the others were very moving.
kidding -- Meant to write "post" not "email". Details are not my thing.
