I just went and looked at Ty's links, which were longer than the other links I'd clicked on - that looks like it was planned. I only looked at the top http://boingboing.net/2011/11/18/pol...ng-arrest.html but the middle film makes it look scripted. how could the cops not know it would look horrible?

I don't think you hang this one on the guy who did it; I think it's higher-ups who have to speak for it. They were talking on the radio, consulting - someone in charge made the call. Amazing.

I think you want to get Spanks to comment instead. My memory is that he has some familiarity with the regents system.

So a woman was killed by a car at the Harvard-Yale tailgate this morning, and another badly injured. Very sad, but I think it points out that there are bigger health and safety issues on all these campuses than a couple tents. I mean, how long were the South African solidarity shantytowns on some of the campuses?
