With our kids, eventually they got hungry and figured out that real food was more easily thrown at the wall, dog, parents, or smeared on the face or table. That pretty much put an end to the breast feeding. Well, that and Mrs. Wonk's increased consumption of chiles de arbol.

I'm not quite sure about your 1915 narrative. There's some stuff that happens in 1914 when an archduke gets shot, but by 1915 the shit has long since been fully dispersed by the fan. And the sequence is (1) shooting; (2) Austria-Hungary declares war on Serbia, (3) Russia declares on Austria; (4) Germany then gets in the act. Is it step 4 you're focused on? Because it may be that you want to think about conversations that were had or not had with Russia and Austria as well in that case.
