My parents and brother have been there on separate trips in the last five years. Both groups said that Rio is fine, but Sao Paolo is just awful in terms of air quality. There's a lot of dirt and trash and poverty in parts of Rio, but my guess is that those parts of town aren't exactly going to be highlighted.

It's Rio. That's amazing.

I am not familiar with this "friend zone," and I do not like men to put me there. I am far more comfortable when they continue to ardently pursue me despite my coldness.

If you play your cards right, I bet you get could him to ardently pursue you again, and then return to your prior coldness. That should make you feel better.

Those aren't cowboy boots. It's different.

Ever wonder why someone got plunked completely out of the blue? Pitch tipping. And I really wish we had some commentators who could pick up on this stuff and be as informative as the guy who put up this you tube video of Mauer tipping Verlander's pitches. It's pretty cool.

By the way, pitch tipping ain't cheating in my book.

Just the PB. And there's an exception for tax policy.

If it's like most Olympic cities, they will ush many of the poor and dirty people out of neighborhoods, tear their shanties down to build new dorms for the athletes, and not let the poor folk use the dorms for shelter when the crowd leaves town.

Sorry, it means that I should "scroll then post," especially before I drink a sufficient quantity of coffee.

Cool story, and interesting (except for the use of a videotape to capture the TV).

But you missed the more important link on that site.

beijing did. did atlanta or athens? is london doing that?

beijing residents at first were pretty pleased because the subway system was finally expanded to get ready for the games- then they got unhappy when the neighborhoods started to be torn down, or at least hidden- then a few million people were ordered to leave the city.

I can only speak for when I was there, but that was in the month of August so I consider myself an expert - air pollution was not bad, probably because it is right on the ocean. However, there is a lot of human detritus.
