The only consolation I saw was no Big Ten team could have come close to USC. Ohio State would have been crushed. It's just two different classes of football. Any team as fast as USC should never be in a bowl with a Big Ten team. Ever. It'll be a mistmatch every time.
Which conference is 5-0 in bowls? The Big-12, the SEC? No, the Pac-10. Every football "expert" and commentator who said pre-season that those were the best conferences can shove Lee Corso up their ass. The proof is in the pudding.

AON, this is my all-purpose swear. It's best used in a philosophical tone, as though you were shaking your head sadly. For exclamatory swears, what used to be called "ejaculations" before the culture deteriorated into everything being a double entendre, I use "motherfuck" without the "er." It is highly satisfactory.

Am I the Pisco Sour drinker of the swear word set?

I use "fuck me" in those same situations.

The Big 12 has seven teams in, and is currently 3-1 with their top two ranked teams yet to play, because the BCS bowls are played later than the non-BCS contests.

The SEC has eight in and is currently 4-1, with their top two ranked teams yet to play, for the same reason.

It would seem to me that being 5-0 in bowl games on January 2nd is a lot like winning the NIT. Congratulations on that, though.

Oooh, conference tickle fight. Fight! Fight! Fight.

Note that the second-best SEC team and the second-best Big XII team are playing tonight only because of the nature of the bowl schedule. Those teams, like USC and Penn State are in a "not the BCS championship" BCS bowl. So really what you're saying is what we know: USC and Penn St. weren't either 1 or 2.

Oh, I've got no pride of ownership here. I'm ACC, where all ten teams have played and "we" finished 4-6. I say "we" because my school didn't even get a bid, having finished its season 3-5 in conference play. I just wanted to point out to Lester that the Bowl Challenge Cup, whatever its merits, is no better at resolving these controversies than the BCS itself. After all, the ACC won five bowl games in 2005-06. It also lost three. So we pick the champion with fewer bids because their W-L ratio was higher, even though by definition they had fewer games because they had fewer bids? Craziness. Gimmick. Shenanigans. We might as well say the Germans won the Battle of Stalingrad because they lost fewer men.

I saw a couple of soccer moms at the local burger joint yesterday wearing matching MOuntain Hardwear jackets. It was quite precious.

I wore mine to an outdoor hockey contest played on a baseball pitch. In the winter! It was smashing.

The Jerk is not on the list? If you put it on the list I will let you friend me.

I wore my Jack Wolfskin, with cricket pants, to a Scottish highlands winter games fest today. I parked my car on the left side of the road, to get in the spirit, and the fucks gave me a ticket. I'm going to find out from Weed if hunger striking is still Euro.

True true story, I used some of mine to traverse the peak of Mt. St. Helens. In January. In white out conditions. Cuz that is how I rolled in Oh-1. I bronzed it and it is in my relics closet.
