So this is the work of Penske, posing as a sock who is not quite convincingly posing as a post-Penske recincarnation of the original? This is positively Hitchcockian!

But I'm happy for MN. And sad that we have to face the hottest team in baseball.

 | Well, Cabrera shouldn't have been called out on that phantom strike, either, so the ump didn't have a great couple of innings.

is the box accurate, or a guestimate? i mean, how is it adjusted for the batters size as an example?

Detroit ain't bitching about the non-call.
 | I'm not making excuses for you or accusing you of whining. I'm simply saying the umpire missed a call that could have changed the game considerably.

Anyway, yeah, terrible decision by the left fielder, and a terrible effort to catch it. He was 2 feet wide of the ball anyway when he slid.

 | Bad strike call. Shoulder high and clearly 4+ inches off the plate. Gardenhire had to come out to get Cabrera b/c he was soo pissed.

And, Hank, I wasn't saying there was any balancing or anything, just that the plate ump was blowing multiple calls. Don't recall the Polanco strike, but that's just one more bad call among several.

Last year the first few games sounded like there was no crowd. Which is as bad as Fox's decision to make even a quiet Monday night regular season crowd sound like Game 7.

Threw me off, too.

 | Is that the one where he gave a little kick towards the ball, as if he were trying to deny the low-post entry pass?
