I haven't heard anything about any mods or hacks to convert an Xbox to a PVR-Tivo device--although it is rumored that the Xbox2 will have such "all-in-one" features, as Bill and M$oft continue their foray into consumers' homes. I think the recent hacks have mostly been mod chips and further attempts to run Linux on the system.

Personally, I think you're just better off building a gaming pc than going through that much trouble.
