Skull & Bones is a secret society. Hard to confirm membership (seeing as it's secret and all), but Bush and Kerrry are both rumored to be Bonesmen.

Separately, Bush was also a Deke (= fraternity), IIRC. Fraternities traditionally aren't a big scene there, so membership in one should be read (not surprisingly) to reflect a serious personal interest in partying.
