My folks had me make drinks for them and their friends as a kid. I guess they thought it was cute. That taught me that one should not consume a half liter of any spirit in one sitting. I never wrecked the car drunk or wound up at the hospital like so many classmates.

Good point. The catholic school girls I went to college with were total sluts. If you withhold too long - shit happens.
NB, let her drink some of the stuff that tastes nasty to teenagers - like Bourbon or Scotch. Keep her away from the rum.
