How do you think mantrapping got invented?

My son plays basketball, and I've been taking him to travel tournaments. Watching my kids do sports has been one of the best things over the past few years. anyway, I had to put together a team of 6 or 7 boys. Several don't have dads around, but a few do, and these dads miss all of it. They never can make the games.

I really don't get having kids if you don't want to be there for the things they do.

I understand the odd conflict, but this is pretty constant.
My old man had a job. How the hell was he supposed to be around? I'm actually quite proud of the fact that he always had his own gig. Makes you an independent kid.

Like, don't ya think he's got a few annoying habits, too.

But I'm getting a black velvet picture of Britney for my office.

So many parenting theories, and only one kid to fuck up with them ... LIFE IS SO UNFAIR! Why, why, why am I not having twins??

If you wait right next to the door, blocking everyone else's access whose turn it is to board because you want to be the first person in row 15 to shove your oversized bag into overhead storage lengthwise, your belongings should be thrown onto the runway.

Here is what I do not understand. Everyone must must must (bite bite bite) board the plane as soon as physically possible, so they can sit down. Then, when the plane lands, everyone must immediately pop up and stand in the aisle or half-crunched near the window for 15 minutes waiting for other people to file out. Why? What does that get you? An extra 3 minutes on the cab line? A little extra rev-up time to achieve full annoyance level while waiting for your checked-in bags because they couldn't possibly get from the plane to the carousel faster than the oldest old person on the plane could crawl there?

While I'm at it, put your shit into the overhead as fast as you can, and do it from within your row. If you are holding up the whole line of people trying to board because you needed to be in your seat in row 7 before anyone else set foot on the plane, you should be trampled to death or a really bad headache.

I agree 100% with everything you just posted. I often think the same exact things.

It bugs me a lot when they are boarding rows 20 and up and you're in row 10 and this guy strolls up late and his wife bleats - oh, they're boarding and they get in line and board right away and later you see them seated in row 9 ahead of you but bleating wife's bag is taking up the ENTIRE overhead compartment for rows 9 and 10. arghh.

It doesn't necessarily get moved. Sometimes they just take a dart in your breast so the nipple moves up automatically. Not entirely sure how this works, but apparently it can.

I was shocked when the audience picked Vanilla Ice over the Knack, Tommy Tutone and the Motels - all of whom did a fantastic job. Plus, Vanilla Ice sang a Destiny's Child song that absolutely sucked. Well, in fairness, Tommy Tutone doing Blink 182 sucked as well. Overall, the show was fun.

I think reading this post made me just a little bit dumber. And that's hard to do because I'm already near capacity.

I think most of our dads had jobs. Mine did, and he was involved in my life. I'm not entirely sure, but I think Hank has a job.

I understand that there are work conflicts. My father was a carpenter so he could never coach my little league team and I sat bench for favoritism. I would have been a major leaguer if only he had the time. But anyway, my comment was directed to the idea of avoiding the kid that was sort of expressed in your post.

The games I'm talking about are Sat/Sun and the dads I'm talking about have jobs that I think would let them be there. The dads are athletic men, I just don't see how you could not want to see junior play.

Maybe they've been banned for choking the coach in the past.

A few near the registers. They're mostly Lawerence Welk and George Jones, though.

This guy is a tool. Unwritten rule: you move to accomodate a family sitting apart if they want you to.

I would have made his life miserable by chugging 6 shots of drambuie and 4 bloody marys then power puking everywhere. That combined with insane scratching, coughing and egg-farting every 60 seconds would have sealed the deal.
