But, you see, if your rule were made the norm in these circumstances, and it were published to all travelers as an example of decent behavior, then the inconsiderate fucks who try to weasel into better seats by pretending there's no difference between and aisle and a middle would have absolutely no moral or logical ground for their pretextual arguments.

So I don't think the shits who want better seats and will use their family as an excuse to get them will ever adopt your rule.
