I always liked John Candy. Uncle Buck is one of my favorite "coming of age" movies. He was able to blend the slapstick with a certain pathos in most of his roles that none of the current crop of SNL alums can manage. Had he survived, I think he would have matured as an actor in much the same way Bill Murray has.
