I think the bottom line is that there are a lot of us who are interested in all the annoying stuff here, or are willing to scroll past the stuff that isn't interesting in the interest of the free and easy style of conversation. I wouldn't read a music board, a movie board, a book board, a current events board, a sex board, and a just-bored-so-I'm-posting-random-crap board. But I read this board. And I like it, pretty much just the way it is.
