1. Absolutely. On the right, mostly.

2. Notice I used the word "trend" in my post a few times. Yes, in a static worldn - one in which trends never occured and scenarios never changged - I would agee with you.

The current absent projected revenue stands at $290 billion. Raise taxes and watch that number increase at a percent wildy above the percent of increased revenue picked up from the increase.

I knowingly and willfully made less this year, which increased your tax burden. Are you mad at me?
I am mad at welfare recipients who can work and don't. But they aren't breaking the law. People who retire early are presumably still paying taxes, so this example is erroneous.

Why are you working so hard to defend an admitted criminal? Would you applaud a rapist who got off because he established his victim was a slut and he could have probably fucked her anyway?

Of course, his case was insane, and he is a fool. But the millions who would quietly siphon what was otherwise taxable into their own pockets can't be prosecuted like Snipes. I'm not talking about widespread massive fraud. I'm talking about people en masse, millions of them, learning to keep small amounts of money Uncle Sam would otherwise receive. It's been happening for years and years, you might say, but when things get as tight as they will and people like Steve Forbes, Glenn Beck and Ron Paul, and the "Wikipedia knowledge" impact of the internet are done saturating the tax disobedience and how-you-can-get-away-with-a-lot-more-than-you-are messages on John Q. Public, I think we're going to see him utilizing knowledge Uncle Sam never figured he'd have, and it will be a serious problem.
It's already a serious problem. The tax gap is billions of dollars. And your argument that the govenrment is flawed, therefore all citizens are entitled to ignore the law is troublesome on a number of levels.

I assume you're just jacking with me. I can't believe that you're really as amoral as you are claiming to be for purposes of this discussion.

Nice . . . quoting Rather in that post gets you an extra point.

P.S. But why do you bother to do what you do here? Couldn't you just go kick an associate?

You get like this every so often. I don't understand why the mood swings and sudden bursts of hostility. . . Adjust your meds.

Peace be with you Hank.

Hence the irony of the 9th vindicating me against 29 so-called "senators" who saw no problem with giving mandatory student fees (via unanimous consent) for things such as a $1,000 honoraria to Cesar Chavez to speak on campus. To this day, I am embarassed for some of the people on that body.

what I do here? people are waxing poetic about how the FCC will get reined right in once Hil or Obama takes over. I was the only to raise couple of facts. Clinton's FCC fined Stern. It started it. And Hil and Obama both voted to raise the FCC fine limit.

"What I do here" is be one of a very small number of people that actually know what they are talking about and who try to bring in facts to upgrade the conversation.

I was not referring to the content of your posts.* I was referring to their tone and manner, and your undisguised/ill-disguised feelings for your fellow posters.

I suspect you could accomplish your laudable goals of spreading knowledge and elevating the discourse without dripping contempt. But perhaps not. Posting here is cheaper than therapy.

you have earned that compliment. I often find your posts inspiring and thought provoking. You certainly have the ability to cause an opponent to see your side of an issue.

I am not defending him. As I said dozens of times, I would not engage in the most aggressive tactics some of these people have. I am merely citing a cultural trend toward supporting them. And I am blaming this crumbling of public "morality" about tax cheating on the fans of big govt who think they can engage in wars and pay for bloated entitlement programs on the taxpayers' back and then have the gall to act as though people who tell them to fuck off and refuse to pay their taxes are somehow "immoral."
