It's that time of the year!
This is how they make it in Singapore (or made it in Singapore when I was there for a few months). It tastes weird at first, but after you get used to it, real Coke hurts your teeth.

It's a shame. You would be able to appreciate The Wire far more authentically, and less as a voyeuristic experience, if you had a little more real life experience with the streets.

It was a bit of a shock for me to learn from a purported pimp who was calling into a local morning radio show this morning that it is not, in fact, hard out there for a pimp. Trust the Oscars voters to get it wrong again when it comes to Original Song.

I bet you get a whole lot more out of The Hold Steady songs, too.
Sunday Night Dance Party and all-ages hardcore matinee shows, indeed.

People in the area have realized (or should have) this for some time. But the drafters of the forms hate to change them and hate even more if you tell them their definitions don't make sense.

Best I can do right now. Must be a lot of little island nations with four letter names. Suprising number of countries have 5 letters.

Isn't Bali part of Indonesia?
I came up with:
Chad
Peru
Iraq
Iran
Oman
Laos
and my 7-year-old added:
Mali
Fiji
Cuba
Still missing one.

Somehow, I have only been to three of them, although I admit to no desire to go much of Africa.

I have now had "good" snake whiskey. Apparently, the stuff they sell at markets to tourists is fresh-out-of-the-still rotgut. Today, though, I went to the snake village here and had snake cooked 9 ways, including watching it killed, eating its still-beating heart, drinking its blood and bile, and having snake-infused liquor with the meal. This stuff was much better than the stuff I had in Laos. There are pics in my blog.
