My dilemma is that I had to set up a new account for myself when I got the iPhone so that I could get goodies like instantaneous syncing of contacts and the ability to download apps. Now I can't figure out how to get my iPhone to work with Mr. Man's (read: OUR) iTunes account. I set it to manual syncing after having a bad outcome with the "sync only checked" setting, but iTunes just does not seem t want to recognize that my iPhone is there. It worked for two songs and now even though my phone is connected via USB cable, it acts as if there are no devices connected.
Is there any way to have our iTunes accounts tied together since we are one household??
(Side note: I'm attaching it to a PC, which is where we are logged in to Mr. Man's account; my Mac is logged in to my iTunes account. I shouldn't have to do this on a Mac, right? We don't for our multitude of other iPod devices, including Mr. Man's iTouch.)

I read somewhere recently that it's not possible to merge itunes accounts. Yes, it sucks, at least within a home network. Your best bet, which is a shitty bet, is to copy all those songs to your computer as well. It's not possible to take "someone else's" music with you on your ipod--all you can do is stream the songs on your home network.
I blame the record companies (since Apple once allowed streaming over the internet to anyone anywhere without password protection in iTunes, and that got shut down within days).

http://discussions.apple.com/thread....05597&tstart=0 seems like it is the same problem you are having, at least kinda sorta, wanting to use music from an iTunes library that is not what is set up with your phone.

Is she getting that message? I didn't think there was a limit to devices on a single account, but that doesn't seem like the problem here.* Her iPhone account is linked to her iTunes account, but her iTunes account is not Man's iTunes account. She cannot get access to his iTunes account using her iPhone/iTunes account because Apple does not make that possible.
*There may be some limit, but I haven't heard of it. Apple presumably doesn't want someone setting up an iPod shop where they sync 500 ipods with the same music and send you on your way.

I'm pretty sure that the limit is six devices.

I'm not so sure what you've solved here.
I did a little more digging, and I still can't find a limit for the number of iPods sync'd to a given iTunes account. Folks seem to think it's unlimited.
There is a limit on the number of computers on which you have DRM'd music--that limit is 5, but you can deauthorize any given computer any time.
There is also a limit on burning a certain playlist--no more than 7 times with an identical playlist. Of course, does anyone burn anything anymore?

things i bought won't go on my new shuffle. there was some message about too many units. i've never actually helped anyone with a technical problem, odd given that i'm an engineer, but can't you just let me have this moment?

Go ahead . . . you should post on some Mac/iPod board and find out if there is in fact some limit. Googling for it came up with the same "no limit" answer, but maybe no one pees on their shuffles as much as you do.

Assignment for New Yorkers.
Go find this, enjoy it, and report back.
Historical haters of installation art are excused from this assignment.

Banksy? I suppose if selling a piece at Sotheby's for more than £100,000 meets your definition of fail, then yes.
BTW, he was probably born in 1974, so it's even worse for me with him... He likely has a much more awesome time fucking around than I do.

Not the art, just the name on the installation (which I assume was intentional).

Ah... I misunderstood. I tend to get defensive of street artists... And installation artists.
