Are you saying you'd flip those choices? I'm just asking.

Enough

The next person who tells me that he/she is "just living the dream" is going to get punched.

Living the nightmare.

My home PC's OS is Windows XP. This morning, my wife turned it on, and when it pulled up my profile there was a notification that the material associated with the profile couldn't be located. When she opened Outlook and Firefox, it started to walk her through the set-up for both applications as if it were the first time either was being used on the machine. No e-mail, contacts, bookmarks, or other materials associated with the profile (My Documents, with the eponymous contents) were to be seen. I had to run out the door, and didn't have the time to do more than glance at the machine. Am I fucked? What should I do?*

* Tell me to back up my files frequently, and I will tell Coltrane that you said you were living the dream.

Help an old guy out. Is this some pop culture reference? Is it one of those beaten-to-death SNL skits?

Not sure about outlook et al, as I don't really use it. But the user files in my documents are probably there somewhere. Look under Documents and Settings under the various users there.

ETA: Or you may be fucked.

What should you do? post a drawn out analysis about how the Bush administration did it to further some illegal political scheme?

I remember the line in Wedding Crashers (about the Will Ferrell character) . . . but is that the source of the term?

you know the monday in January every year when work is closed, and you get to stay home and drink and do drugs?

Well for most of us that day honors a man named martin Luther King, who made a speech, it's really famous, about "having a dream" that white and black people might someday be on equal footing here. i think "living the dream" implies, from at least the stand point of a black person that he or she has achieved some measure of sucess in their jobs etc. i think white people have adopted the phrase.

Coltrane is bothered by it, since it reminds him that swarthy people have opportunities and he believes they all cheat to get what they have.

Did you just call Martin Luther King "swarthy"?

Question for Hank

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/200...x.html?eref=T1

How do you feel about this trade? You get cap space for next season and AI right now (who ain't gonna help you win anything). Good trade? I mean, aside from the fact that you're losing Billups, you're favorite player. Oh yeah, and McDyess, who I've always thought was solid (even though he's ancient--and even older if you take those fucked up legs into account).

I think it's a great trade on both ends.

Denver gives Chauncey a chance to go out in his hometown, so good for him.

The Pistons had no chance this year standing still. They do have some good young guys coming up, but they're a few years away. The main guys, beside T Prince, are close to too old, so I was looking at a few years of downtime.

This gives us a chance for this year. And I agree with the article that it hinges on AI playing as part of a team of at least 4 all star players. The ticket sales people have been downright fatalistic, monotone, "oh, but if you renew we'll give you better seats at a lower price...." I bet sales pick up, particularly if they catch a run.

This is exciting. Yes. (what does suck is years ago when we lost to the Spurs in the finals, which it turns out was McD's only real chance to get a ring.
