For champagne:

Big houses:

Louis Roeder NV; or if you want to splurge, the 2002 is widely available and very good.

Bollinger, NV. For splurge, the 96 or 99 vintage.

Another splurge:

Pol Roger 1998 Cuvée Sir Winston Churchill

small houses:

Anything by Larmandier Bernier, although my favorite is the blanc de blancs, if you like that style (all chard).

Camille Saves, NV and the 2002 vintage.

pierre peters, blanc de blancs

If you can find it, Delamotte (salon's second house) is also excellent. NV.

Sparkling wine:

Argyle from Oregon (hi Ollie!)

Roederer Estate

Schramsberg.

French sparkling that's not champagne, i.e. Cremant:

Lucien Albrecht. Relatively inexpensive. well made. the blanc de blancs and.or rose.
