This Is Your Chance. In 500 words or less, make the case for TM to leave the rich, soulless, and ultimately unsatisfying world of Yankee Nation and move on over to the gentler, kinder and better environs of Shea. You may invoke unicorns in your pitch, but be forewarned that the use of derogatory terms directed at Yankee organizations and/or fans, whether "asshole" or otherwise, will probably be counterproductive.

 | You have to hand it to the Pohlads. By slashing the payroll and getting the league to threaten contraction they created a really organization-friendly set of expectations. No one expects them to pay Santana $25 mil a year, so there is no backlash for trading him, or for not signing Hunter to a huge deal.

The fans are happy as long as they keep scouting well, coming up with exciting young players, and being in the hunt in the division. |

 | Never happen. If I were to ever leave, it would be for the Twins, whose games I've actually attended. But I'm die-hard. If I can live through Steinbrenner in the 80s there is nothing that could drive me away from the Yankees.

I could never cheer for the Mets. Ever.

So the fans never get that upset.

It's fun watching young players develop and grow (especially good ones and you guys have a great farm system). If you guys would break the bank when things look good for a free agent for a run every now and then, it would be perfect.

 | Yeah. Although I think their runs are more likely to come from a mid-level free agent who out performs expectations (ala Chili Davis in 2001) than from a top flight free agent. They have been trying for that but recently haven't been able to even get middling performance from their free agent signings (see, e.g. Rondell White, Mike Lamb, and Livan Hernandez, although he started last season hot). |

Can anyone think of a good patent lawyer who would talk to me over the back fence?
How about one who isn't so good?

 | i'm on pins and needles. i remember Thurgreed said saying you have sex with some sock's wife was old and out of style, but Penske keeps saying it, and saying it. I'm afraid people are laughing behind my back because i don't respond, but if i do respond, then i might be whiffing, like if Penske is being ironic.

I am so confused
can you help me?
