On the subject of facebook.... many of my sorority sisters have recently been scanning photos from formals, etc. and posting them on facebook.

I had big hair. And questionable taste in clothes.

Though the photo of me and my soon-to-be-husband and I from the sophomore winter formal is pretty amusing.

I grew up in snow, and the streets and sidewalks were generally clear by the time the snow stopped falling, as well as before. If they weren't pretty much everything, including courts, was closed.
you're from Grosse Pointe?

Have they been tagging you? There ought to be a rule that you can't tag someone in an old scanned photo without their consent, as at the time the photo was taken, you couldn't have anticipated the possibility of its going viral.

My concern relates to certain pictures on Lake Lanier, but I'm sure this view is pretty universal among those of us who came of age before digital photography and the internet.

2. It's hell being the first generation to live out our lives on the Internets and also the last generation to have any sense of privacy or shame.

It's a penalty for your lack of prescience. Home porn videos have been around for years, since you got boobs. How much of a leap is it to figure out that people could start sending around still photos as well?

Yeah, but since I had no plans to enter the Miss America pageant or run for public office, I figured the free doubles from Fotomat would sit in a drawer forever.

You can untag pictures of yourself.

Since I first saw the ads for the Samsung "Rant" phone, I have felt it should be Sebby's premier Xmas gift. Now you get one too:
