This is a much better list than the other one. What a surprise! I have more in common (humoriphorically) with Thurgreed than a bunch of airheads who spew pablum for the consumption of the unwashed masses!

My only changes to this list would be to move Dirty Rotten Scoundrels higher up, and trade Life of Brian for Holy Grail (if only one MP entry is permitted). If more than one, I'd remove Weird Science to make room.

Favre

Brett Favre sucks. Not only does he fucking suck, but, in the era of the selfish athlete, he falls in the top fucking three. The Jets were built for conservative football and Favre basically gambled game after game after game -- even after he injured his arm (and knew he didn't have the arm strength for his ridiculous fucking passes). Early on, he was relatively under control and when he gambled, he and the Jets got lucky. Later on, when teams keyed in on the fact that he could no longer sling the ball way down field and the Jets offense was basically the one we ran with Pennington (15 yard slants and crosses), teams started jumping routes and Favre was exposed.

It is not Mangini's fault the Jets flopped at the end of the season. It is Favre's. The guy is a fucking asshole. And when Mangini called him on his idiotic play, he supposedly got pissy and took more fucking chances.

It will always amaze me how people continue to suck his dick. At this point in his career, he's a joke. And he will hurt whatever team he comes out of "retirement" to play for next year. Where the hell is Lawrence Taylor when you need him?*

TM

*Although, I am already stocking vomit bags for when he becomes the next Theisman-like announcer.

I love Swingers, but I don't think it is a comedy.

Of course TM's list is better. It's not limited to the last 25 years.

Plus, the Jerk is WAY to low on his list.

The pink sand beach on the island of Eleuthera in the Bahamas is definitely the nicest beach I've ever been to. I've only been once (the week after Thanksgiving one year) and the water was bathtub-warm, the pink sand was literally, flour-soft and the beach had maybe a dozen people on it as far as the eye can see in either direction.* If I were to win the lottery, I would by a house on the beach there. The island is small and there are no cars (everyone travels by golf cart). I was only there for a couple of day trips (from Atlantis, which isn't too far by boat shuttle) and the rooms at the hotels on Eleuthera are pretty expensive. But people who have been there, swear by it.

TM

*And 4 of those dozen were bikini models taking photos, swimming and laying out topless (and otherwise, just improving the scenery).

There is a quite a lot of tension between the two halves of this sentence. This is what Favre does. It has always been what Favre does.

In other words, I agree with you. Until next year it works and he is a hero again.

According to these fans, Beckham may have to take on ten men and their mobile phones as well.

I don't have experience with that particular problem, but the Displaced Dog was on SAMe for a few years to help improve his liver function. SAMe is also used a lot for mild depression and for osteoarthritis in humans. My vet said that after a year on the supplement, liver function was improved dramatically, though I don't know if the depression and osteoarthritis improvement would also be there. The Displaced Dog did have trouble getting up in his last few months, but I think that was more due to his exhaustion from congestive heart failure than problems with his joints. He never had problems with depression. They make dog versions of SAMe, but my vet said that they're essentially a more expensive version of the kind sold at Whole Foods or Walgreens for people, so I just picked it up at one of those two places and followed the dosing instructions on one of the pet SAMe websites.

Anyhow, I think that rimadyl has some adverse liver and kidney effects, so you might want to ask your vet if a supplement of SAMe in addition to rimadyl would be a good idea. Rimadyl was especially made for dogs, so I imagine there's a lot of data on its long-term effectiveness.

Good luck! I did everything I could last year on making sure that the Displaced Dog was as comfortable as possible in his twilight, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat. He gave me nearly 16 years, and it was the least I could do to make sure that I was as good to him as he was to me. He died in August, and I still miss him a lot.

BTW, I got a note last Monday from the Puppy's breeder that a surprise litter was born on December 27th. We'd thought that it wouldn't be until late spring that we'd get a new puppy, but it looks like we'll be picking up our baby girl on Valentine's day. She's 8 days old today, and the breeder sent me pictures of four itty bitty balls of fluff this afternoon. Mine, I think, was the tiniest of the balls. The Puppy isn't going to like losing her only dog status at first, but I think she misses having someone else to boss around. The cat just doesn't work for her.
Thank. Sorry to hear about the displaced dog, but happy for your puppy. Like you, palliative care/at home will be the final chapter, I'd just like to postpone it for a little longer. [real sniff]

Thanks. that is one of the supplements that he is on. Plus healthy powder (cf: pitcairns natural diet for dogs book), plus a natural foods diet (although that has been for his whole life other than the first few weeks, before he presented epilepsy), plus rimadyl, plus adequan (sic) shots. Ugh.

No there isn't. They built the team thinking one way and then went and got Favre. It was a stupid fucking thing to do.

You're crazy. Favre is done. His teammates cut him slack in Green Bay because he's a god there, even when he plays like shit. But any team that signs him next year (including the Jets who are apparently leaving it up to him on whether or not he will return) will be ripped apart.

Confidential to Flower:

I don't want to post this out loud, so as not to offend TM, but assistants who do stuff like that, amongst other things, wink wink, iykwimaiktyd, are corner office perqs.
