Don't you have an REI near you?

Road Runner Sports. Although, I have no idea what would be fashionable with respect to running clothing. Zip V-neck/turtleneck long sleeve polysomething shirt, fleece vest, $1 gloves from Walgreens, thin hat, long undies* or running tights. Done. Actually, REI will help you with both sports.

*I once forgot to wear shorts over my long undies. Cold...and a little "exposed".

Dear, sweet, Coltrane [me patting your hand]. There is nothing near me. NOTHING! I have decamped to rural America. But chic rural America. No rednecks.

Fashionable means streamlined and "makes my ass look good".

I usually wear one of those fleecy thin shirts and then a heavier stretchy thing over it and a portable turtleneck thing (like a little "tube" of fleece). And running tights. But if they are warm enough, they feel bulky. I hate bulk. Except in my oatmeal.

I like Athleta, so you may take my advice with a grain of salt. But Road Runner Sports has a female counterpart -- Activa. I quite like the stuff I have bought from there.

I just wear a wind breaker and plasticy running pants. Then underarmor compression shorts and layers of shirts, usually one of those underarmor breathing shirts.

Oh and coltrane let me one up your $1 gloves (which I do now use). when I used to run in tube socks, I'd wear a pair for gloves. Out cheap that. Go ahead.

I got yak-tracks for Xmas, but have been afraid to try them. anyone used them?

When I was 12, I was at Boyne Mountain (hi Hank!) and saw two women skiing in Hot Chilis and bikini tops. I think this would be a good look for you.

For running, just wear a medium weight long sleeve stretch half zip and a fleece vest. That's all you really need, and it's not bulky. It's cold at first, but you warm up.

And the ass makes the tights. Not the other way around.

I don't really see how they would help. They aren't going to stop my shoes from getting wet in the snow, and traction really isn't an issue in the snow (but it is on ice. I don't see how they would help on ice). Let me know if I'm wrong.

I thought Title 9 was always the right answer. Do they not make cold-weather apparel?

Not for running, but they're great in ice/snow. The wire loops dig in a lot better in packed snow that most shoes/boots. On ice you get some measure of grip as opposed to none at all.

For running I think they would be really annoying to land on in your stride.

I actually like the asses in Athleta.

Almost as good as the ones in High Society.

Excellent. That's where I ordered mine (Athleta, not High Society).

-2. However nice the underlying asses are, the attire seems to unflatter them as much as possible.
