				Re: Lawyer = Nerd

More evidence that I am a nerd, aside from the whole law thing:
A sex columnist I follow on twitter @ replied me about a not-yet-open bar we both love and is now following me . . . and this made me happy.

				An Absurd Thing to Love

 From The Awl :

I could never wear these, as I would need a micro-mini or "jeggings" to balance the weight of the shoe, but I love the audacity.

 | You would also need rubber bands around them, and a big bowl of melted butter.

there's your real test- a video you would watch every time, but it's not in any music rotation for you.
 | Hank hits the nail on the head. At the time, ABC and Squeeze were each heavily played on the cassette deck of the Not Bobmobile as I crusied Highway 64 between East Podunkville and Podunkville proper, trying with varying degrees of success to impress girls who looked like Jennifer Jason Leigh in "Fast Times At Ridgemont High."

And yet today, Squeeze is on the iPod, and ABC is not. Shoot that poisoned arrow, indeed. |

Sigur Ros is, of course, ideal music for a mid-Winter evening in an ice-bound cabin on the Cape Breton coast as a Noreaster rolls in, or a summer night on the tundra watching the lights. I personally like it when I am doing one of my December/January drives the full length of upstate NY.

Maybe not every evening, but there are nights where nothing other than Sigur Ros does it.

She practically had to crawl to the set because her feet were nearly vertical and the shoes were really painful.

They look like torture to me. |

 | I saw a double bill of Psychedelic Furs and ABC at HOB Sunset Strip a couple of years ago and ABC put on quite a show. However I went for Psychedelic Furs. So I agree.

One of my most favorite celebrity sightings ever happened at that show. Duckie!!!! Pretty in Pink, indeed.

And Posada wonders why the fuck he's getting benched Game 2. What a shitty defensive catcher.
