Depends on the intensity of the relationship. Just dating, maybe a few weeks. Living together or making plans for a life together, the amount of time it takes to train for and run a half marathon from a pretty non-active lifestyle (seven months).

I took nearly a year after the OM and I split up. Generally, I have moved on quickly after a break has become official, especially if we'd been breaking up for a long time before we called time of death.
