Apropos of, uh . . . whatever, I am ashamed to admit that I laughed at your sig without knowing where it was from, but now that I have been catching up on It's Always Sunny etc., which I never saw in its original run, my desire to tell everyone how amazingly great it is has conquered my shame. It is amazingly great.

earlier today? Or am I on ignore?

The part that didn't occur to me was that I had been stupid and venial at that age.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm anticipating a long TM post claiming Jalen Rose was not stupid, but was correct about Duke when he was 19 and incorrect about it now.

Peaked in Season 1 (with "Charlie Gets Molested"); remained funny in Season 2 (although Danny DeVito is inexplicable stunt casting) but otherwise downhill from there. And I say that despite IASIP's courageous tackling of the heartbreak of bedshitting.

Ah, yes, I'd forgotten your Solomonic nature.
I had almost written "like all of us at 19", but chose not to.
Has TM disagreed that Jalen's use of "Uncle Tom" was stupid and inaccurate, rather than merely arguing the facts underlying the use being fundamentally true?

I think it's pretty well established who Coach K recruits.

Coach K runs a basketball program that competes with Kentucky, Indiana, UCLA, UNC etc. And he does so without being an enormous state university with huge populations of a wide variety of backgrounds. He does so at a school that boasts 10% black undergraduates, which is pretty impressive -- I wonder if Harvard could claim the same. (UNC has 9.6%; Indiana has 7.2%; U.Mich., 5.8%; UCLA 4%.) The difference is Duke is less than half the size of those other schools -- in some cases far less -- and it's academically selective more like an Ivy than the others. With an undergrad population of 6,500, that means Duke has 650 black kids. Calling Duke "lily white" seems unfair when it matches or beats UNC on diversity. But I care far more about admissions than I do about the color of the team. A school with 4% AA enrollment but 3/5 black starters would be more of a problem for me because it reeks of exploitation.

Whatever. I'm not going to argue with you about shit that is completely irrelevant to the issue we are discussing. Frankly, I think most of what you said is ridiculous (much like your stance on cops and various other shit). And I really don't care if you feel the same about my opinion.
Let's hope that ends this discussion between you and me.

What about Dockery?
Not that one exception means much, but have you looked at who they make offers to, at all, instead of just who ends up on the team?

I agree. And the show would still work if you replaced any character besides Charlie. That guy is hilarious.
What's the quote?

No. I don't have access to that information, so I have to use common sense by comparing who ends up on his team with who ends up playing for other big time programs, combined with Coach K's status as the best basketball coach in the game (if not history).
