What is a cynic? A man who knows the price of everything and the value of nothing. Oscar Wilde, Lady Windermere's Fan, 1892, Act III

Besides, those tires come from a later vintage bike. I think they shopped a 1960s model in. What a hack job.

If he went away to War in 1914, he arrived unfashionably early.

Apparently not shopped, but also not from 1914. Local paper found a guy who claims it.

ETA: More from snopes, including video.

In Paris as a youth, I knew I was near the Gare du Nord, but couldn't find it. I attempted to ask a local how to get there, but asked "où est la guerre?" instead.

Froggy fell into sterotype, refusing to help a former ally; "où est la guerre? la guerre est partout!"

I remember when my friend Michael asked the waiter about "la pâte en forme de cygne" but he misspoke and said "en forme de singe." How the waiter laughed -- he nearly fell into the mill stream! Good times.

A shanty Irish prole like me would make the point through the use Steve Martin's "omelette du frommage" routine from his "Let's Get Small" album.

Also, many Americans went off to war before 1917 -- see e.g. the Lafayette Escadrille. Perhaps the tree ate the bike because the young man joined the Canadian Army and died of mustard gas at Ypres, you heartless bastard.

I remember the time you were waiting on a Frenchman and he wanted to try American cuisine and asked you for a "hum bugger". That place couldn't fire you fast enough.

Why are you talking like Yoda?

No. No issues are there. Prices low they are. Clothes cute they are.
