Jimi, Jerry, and Now Richie ...

Another piece of Woodstock history is lost -- Richie Havens, 72. I always liked his cover of "Here Comes the Sun" (one of the first 45's I ever bought.)

I think all of the members of the Woodstock line-up of Sha-Na-Na live on, although one of them is a law professor at the University of Dayton -- does that count as dying?

Dr. Joyce Brothers

Deaths like this make me feel old -- I remember her seeming always to be on TV when I was a kid (like, on all the talk shows, or as a special guest, playing herself, on "The Odd Couple" or on "Laugh-In").

She destymatized seeking professional psychiatric help, but with what's happened in the interim, I'm left wondering if we should re-stygmatize it just a tiny, tiny bit.
