When in doubt, go local, right? Redbreast by Anchor. Or Wiser's (not local) if you are going to mix it. Jack is foul candy for newbie drinkers. Only slightly better than SoCo. At least use Bulleit.

Four Roses yellow label is nothin’ special. I did like a bottle of Small Batch 90 proof. I think the experience of a cork makes for a better drink; I’ve always preferred the “blunk” of a corked bottle to a twist-cap, even though it’s an irrational preference.

Wonk drinks Bombay Sapphire or Hendrick's martinis, or he drinks Blanton's on the rocks with a splash of soda. He doesn't drink Jack if there's something better on offer.

And he certainly doesn't take advice on alcoholic beverages from the sort of fellow who is willing to drink Scoresby's for free rather than pop on down to the terminal bar and get something that isn't tested weekly under an FDA consent order.

Ignore Hank. He's a fucking scotch drinker. That's all you need to know.

Conf to Wonk: don't despair. I'm thinking if you do something like this guy http://www.npr.org/blogs/parallels/2...ntent=20150102 the chicks might find you more appealing.

Well-played, sir. And, apropos of nothing, is your comment regarding Clapton based on a story that you can share?

No, never met any of those guys. Lemmy, Alice Cooper, DLR, Kiss, Motley Crue, Ramones 'bout best I done did.

Just know that one person put a picture on Facebook of a topless fan on stage from back in the day and the whole internet broke.
