But I don't know how the very first thing that Sessions as AG brings to mind isn't, "this is going to be terrible for black people, who will face emboldened racist policing, escalated voter suppression, and discrimination unchecked by an effective Civil Rights Division." | Again, that's prison reform.

Second, I'm not apologizing for anything. But I will concede when I'm wrong about something. And while I still hold my assessment that Trump is himself a moderate, his cabinet sure as fuck isn't. He owes Sessions "big league" for backing him early, but man -- this motherfucker cannot be Atty. General. This is a wet kiss to the private prison industry, and sets up a civil war over marijuana legalization.

However, that's a civil war I welcome. Because the Feds aren't going to win it. And it's going to rip the GOP in half, pitting libertarian and socially-liberal traditional republicans against regressive authoritarian sorts.

This lazy fuck is pissing me off. He's clearly just doling out positions to back benchers who supported him. Everyone I know who's spent time with Trump (it's hard not to know someone who hasn't played golf with the guy) likes him, says he's a moderate, and advises this whole campaign was shtick. I still think he's what's been sold to me. But he's clearly also incredibly lazy, and he's too loyal. People like Sessions deserve favors, but not things like the Atty. General position. I agree -- this is just fucked up, and distressing. | You do realize that every blue state legalizing pot is going to soon discover that federal law is federal law, and the feds, probably in a whole bunch of recently acquired souped up military equipment, are going to soon be showing up at the dispensaries, rounding up the perps, locking the doors, and confiscating the goods? Here in Mass., they're already using national guard helicopters to ID pot plants in backyards under our liberal Republican governor.

But, I know, Hillary was a threat to your liberty. Liberty!

 | You can't put the genie back in the bottle on weed. But Sessions is fucking horrible on justice reform, and he will hold that back.

Because I invented that! I have people who will swear that as early as the mid-90s, if asked what my alternate career would be, I would say "Bootsy Collins."

What is your alternate career? Some other soul-sucking profession that requires good writing and analytical skills and an attention to detail?

But the big question is, what will Attorney General Sessions do to make sure that State Department employees don't misuse their email?
