There are whole parts of the federal bureaucracy that keep doing their jobs out of their own bureaucratic imperatives without much prodding or involvement on the White House's part.

Mind. Blown.

Well, then, I don't see why he's such a hero to anti-semites. I'll bet Julia Ioffe sent herself the threats to turn her into a lamp shade. Damn MSM.
Do African-Americans realize he has Ben Carson hanging around, too?

You know who Steve Bannon is, right?

I mean, you'd have to think so, right? Like, how can a guy who owns a bunch of hotels really have a problem with latino immigrants, documented or not, given that he employs a lot of them? How can a New York "billionaire" have a problem with gay marriage, when he certainly know some married gays? How can he retweet anti-semitic memes when his son in law is jewish and his daughter converted?

That's bad, but a far different kind of bad than actually being ideologically aligned with those sorts.

There's a point at which this becomes a distinction without a difference, though.

You cannot really think this is a battle of freedom vs. autocracy. It's an argument about who you'd prefer in control. Hillary is preferable to many here for a number of reasons which are totally understandable. Trump is preferable to others for equally understandable reasons. But let's not get ahead of ourselves and surmise we'd be any less controlled - any more or less "democratic" - under either of these two. She'd just be a lot more subtle about it.

I'm not sure how you read that article and come out with this dumbass response, but then again, I often feel this way about your responses.
I give up. Carry on with your bullshit.

I don't think you really gave up. Sebastian will say some other nonsense like trying to play off the fact that Trump has huge support with hate groups as some sort of coincidence, and you will feel compelled to respond to point out that he is full of shit and the cycle will continue. Also, did you see that I met Kool Keith? I was a little messed up and it was very hard for me to not start saying, "Earth people, I was born on Jupiter!" But I resisted.
Al Green is a great soul singer, but this song strikes me as more of a slow grooving funk tune. But, you know, maybe we should stop always trying to put things in boxes, right? The Daily Dose is "I'm a Ram":

I took the implication from the op the stop was a sign of trump's policy changes, maybe he didn't intend that, but it seemed it.

I'd be interested to know how long it's been going on since it seems like something that would be happening based on the change in political climate brought on by the fucking moron we will all soon be regretting we didn't do more to stop.

OK, here is the original post:
Quote:
Who knows anything about 4th amendment issues?
My daughter was on a bus in Rochester this am. Border Control comes on. Two big guys block the door to the bus, and the others go through the bus asking people what country they are from. They ask some people for passports - mostly people of color. If they don't have passports they ask for other ID. After they go through the whole bus they leave. No indication of any probable cause (but you never know what they have).
Is this a constitutional stop? The closest border is two hours away. The bus is going from one part of NY (Rochester) to another (Ithaca).
|
Why would you take anything out of that other than that I wanted to know if someone knew something about 4th amendment issues?

We will all be happier the sooner we acknowledge that.

It looks like at least 5 years, maybe longer, and that the Border Patrol has a real thing for Rochester, Syracuse, and a few other places, where it stakes out bus stops and airports to harass foreign students or people who might be foreign students.
Based on what I can figure out, this not being my area, or even anywhere near my area, is that the best case against these bozos is that they are targeting based on racial profiling. I'd love to get some nice students down to the bus stations to monitor the Border Patrol's activities.

alright alright- so speaking of borders, I have never been to Mexico, but I'll be in San Diego next month. Is there anything at all to going to Tijuana, or is it just ugly border city?
