My friend, maybe we have been to different San Diegos. No love for the Coronado? For shame.
Apropos of no love, I cannot believe that the amusing line from Cheech & Chong's* "Born in East L.A." I used received, well, no love. Don't say that I should have gone with the tacky and arguably offensive "It's No Fun Being An Illegal Alien" from the Not Peter Gabriel era of Genesis, please.

I have had a couple stops at the Del over the years, which does have a certain charm as a sort of formerly nice but now bordering on seedy setting invoking thoughts of The Fabulous Baker Boys.
Meh.

Where I live it snows. We go to a beach each February and I can run on a beach. Staying at the Del. I'll take bordering on seedy, but not 10 degrees.

It's like eating dinner in a nice place, then digging for dessert in the dumpster.

Not Tijuana. That's like saying nothing is worse than an asshole in the face, then seeing an asshole with a pus boil.

So I'm saying cross the border, can say I was in Mexico once. But no benefit beyond that? I really do not need to see a purely gross city.

I suspect it's happening because ICE needs to make internal quotas and look busy, and because they can, and because ICE is pretty insulated from political pressure, and because the kind of people of people who are affected have little political clout. And because of a bad Supreme Court decision that gets rid of the Fourth Amendment in much of the country.

If the Fourth Amendment doesn't apply near the border, not sure why the Equal Protection Clause would.

Well, so the second is at least might have some medical interest.

Mexico is a great, diverse and fascinating country. This would kind of like a Mexican saying they had been in the US because they crossed over to San Diego, or had a layover in the Detroit airport.

This case appears to be the reason.
But again, not my area, so if any of you actually know anything about the area, weigh in. Though it appears that no one here does.
But reading that again, I'm left uncertain as to whether it will apply. It looks like border patrol is thinking of bus stops as checkpoints rather than roving stops.

It was probably 25 years ago now, but we drove across the border, down one street and then turned back and drove back.
These days I'd probably be a bit more adventurous, but at the time we didn't find any appeal.

Since roughly late September 2001, at least down here.
