I did not follow it, but Trump's post-verdict comments confirmed him to be the rancid hate-filled sack of infected fecal matter that we knew he was. In fact, pretty much every act taken by Trump and every sentence spoken or written by him this week has confirmed that he is a sewer-dwelling pus-filled scabrous sphincter with an anger-management problem and a dangerous lack of filter between the tiny diseased mucous-ball that acts as his brain and his fatty slobbering mouth.
Carry on.

Unless it's HIPAA or healthcare fraud and abuse related, I don't know that much about federal criminal law/investigations, but I am hopeful reading this: https://twitter.com/sethabramson/sta...02442996813824

We could be moving toward accountability for a horribly corrupt administration. Or we could be moving toward the end of our democracy. Fun!
ETA: ABC news is apparently reporting that Flynn is prepared to testify that Trump directed him to make contact with Russia.

Coincidence that Trump has seemed so unhinged recently and the news that Flynn is pleading guilty? I don't think so....

I've seen some other suggestions that instructions came from "transition", which Pence was in charge of. We'll see what plays out.
In the mean time, Republicans are looking to loot the Treasury. Next expect them to try to loot the National Parks and Natural Resources. It's all just a question of what they have time to loot before they're kicked out.
(Thanks, Sebby!)

This would make sense. There is a foul smell of desperation that seems to be emanating from the White House. On the other hand, in this upside down world, I am willing to consider that Trump has been acting so unhinged lately simply because, well, he is completely fucking unhinged in general and this happened to be a week where his unhingedness was on the upswing.

I don't get the desperation. It doesn't seem to me that we are any closer to having a majority of the House or two-thirds of the Senate inclined to vote to impeach. Rather, the Republican ability to move the goalposts to excuse whatever it is they are doing seems completely unimpaired. The public case for the tax bill has been a massive campaign of lying about what they're doing -- those same legislators don't seem like they're going to be upset if Trump lied about colluding with Russia. I still think that a lot of people have to get hurt for Trump to get impeached, and that hasn't happened yet.
I am wondering about the interaction between the tax bill and the Russia investigation. Does passage of the tax bill make Trump weaker (they got their tax cut, now they don't need him) or stronger (finally, an accomplishment)? Does the Russian investigation make the tax bill more or less likely to pass?

I'm sure that Sebby continues to think there would have been no real difference between the Hillary and the Donald Administrations. Sure, Sebby is going to get screwed when he can't deduct state and local tax payments anymore, but no doubt Hillary was going to do that too.

Yeah, don't know what the deal was with the ABC report. Sounds like the statement of the offense (which I haven't read myself yet) is about contacts during the transition.
But we know that the statement of the offense for a cooperating witness is definitely not everything that witness has proffered. And we should be pretty confident that Mueller's team would keep whatever is most incriminating against remaining targets out of any of that paperwork.
So maybe ABC knows something. Or maybe ABC mis-reported what's in the statement of offense.

If Mueller makes it to Tuesday, I will be SHOCKED. Trump is going to fucking lose it all weekend.

I'm astonished this thing is going to go through with a SALT cap of $10k. Until yesterday, I did not even pay attention to this bill very much, as I'd been lulled by previous failures into thinking it was DOA.
Now, I still believe the bill may still die. But that's just because it's nuts. This, I know, is not very persuasive.
NY and CA can survive this. Jersey, which was already fucked, is really fucked. This may be really good for PA and DE, however.

That seems like the one thing Trump realistically might do that would turn Republicans on the Hill against him.
