I think the idea is to not draw any attention to the asset which is serving as your looted money-hiding spot.
But even if that's not the situation, for us, sure, renting it makes perfect sense. But if you have a $30 million dollar apartment, getting $10k a month for it probably seems ridiculous. Hell, I know people who won't rent out places they use for a weekend once a year and they're only
kinda rich.
