No. Among other things, it requires hospitalization much more than the flu does. And, we have hospital beds to handle the flu, but not to handle a surge of Covid-19 cases.

The hoarding is an expression of the desire to take control over a situation in which one lacks control. It's not rational. And I don't understand why people are hoarding toilet paper. It's a respiratory disease, not a lower GI disease.
