Juries are comprised of people who don't have anything important enough to do to get themselves excused. Grand juries, which sit for exceedingly long periods of time, are comprised of people who truly, seriously, have nothing more important to do in their lives, if they have lives of any useful kind at all. When I have been in a jury pool I would have loved to have been seated. I'd sit back and watch. But yes, a Grand Jury, I don't get how anyone can do that.
